On the heels of yesterday's announcement of
EMI hooking up with Snocap, legal P2P service and
Snocap customer MashBoxx has opened is doors to beta testers today. MashBoxx
works like conventional P2P clients, except that when you try to download a file protected by Snocap, it will instead
send you a DRMed file or prompt you to pay the fee demanded by the copyright holder first. You can sign up for the
service on the MashBoxx site, but beware: no privacy policy is in evidence. The Register
has more on EMI, Snocap, and MashBoxx..
