Hi, everybody! You might have noticed that there's a new kid blogging here. That's me, Jordan Running, and I'm here to blog about P2P and nothing but P2P. By day I work as a web developer in the Midwest and by night I blog at my own site, Swirlee, which just had its fifth birthday. I'd like to thank Judith and the gang at Weblogs, Inc. for giving me this great opportunity and you, the loyal readers, for your patronage.

Now that you know who I am, tell me a little bit about yourselves! Click on the "Comments" link below and tell me what sorts of P2P news you want to hear most, what kinds of How-To articles you'd like to see, and what P2P software/story/phenomenon you think doesn't get enough attention.

2. When you purchase software, the license agreement allows you to make copies for backup purposes. When you purchase music or videos, is it implied that you can make copies for you own use?

This raises a couple questions about music or videos. Has the issue been raised that if you purchased music on vinyl, cassette or CD and the media no longer is playable, do you have the right to download new copies? Even if the media is playable but in poor condition, here again can you download another copy?

I know what the music industry will say � it�s not our fault that you wore it out and you have to buy another copy.

Just something to think about.
