Welsh rock band Stereophonics is releasing its upcoming album Language. Sex. Violence. Other? on the Altnet network native to Kazaa. The release is part of a deal between Altnet and Richard Branson's "indie" label V2.
Altnet is the component of Kazaa that offers users DRM-heavy "gold" files for purchase and is considered by some to be spyware. Kazaa users will be able to download (and "purchase licenses for") the album for $9.99 or buy each track for $0.99, and download the video for the album's first single, "Dakota", for free.
The album is set to "drop" on March 29, and presumably its Altnet release will be timed to coincide.
