Vispa, an ISP in the UK has apparently started to block P2P traffic including Bit Torrent, Winmx and eDonkey. The block has become the default setting so users wishing to share files have to request access to customer service. We got this on Vispa's message board:
I was given the reason for this as 'Vispa is under pressure from movie companies to stop file sharing' - so the knee-jerk reaction was to put the stops on the users. It's like Ford not selling you a car as you'd probably go and break the speed limit in it.

This sort of attitude is on a par with not selling you matches in case you burn someone's house down. Unforunately, it's pretty typical of the continual nannying we have to put up with in the UK at the moment.
